UpFront oil coolers are different than other oil coolers.  Other oil coolers maintain their width and thickness and increase their cooling capacity by increasing their height.  When you need more oil cooling you get a bigger oil cooler.  A bigger oil cooler means a taller oil cooler and that translates into difficulty in finding a suitable place to mount the large cooler so it is in the air stream.
